I'm now based in Wellington in New Zealand. I'm looking for a job opportunity in Motion Capture, Matchmoving or any enthusiastic creative department. I have both British / French nationalities and a New Zealand work permit.
My first days in Wellington have been great! I think I've been very lucky with the weather: sunshine nearly everyday. After all the stories I've heard about "Windy Welly" this has been a very pleasant surprise. Below are a few panoramic shots I've taken while exploring NZ's little capital city and its vicinity.
I'm also using my spare time to self-train on a few softwares. I have done most of the tutorials on 3DEqualizer. Progressively I also get a good understanding of Motion Builder. I also started scripting in that software and I'm learning PyQT in order to create UI. I hope I'll have the opportunity to use those new skills on future projects.
April 2012
I just arrived in Wellington, NZ. My goal is to find a new job in the Film or Creative industry. I'm also planning to self-train on Motion Builder, 3DEqualizer and do a bit of scripting during my spare time here.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you be interested by my skills.
March 2012
Over the past couple of months I did a bit of travelling: Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand and finally the Australian Outback! Unfortunately I also managed to break my wrist on my 2nd day in Thailand (since April my left arm is out of the cast)
Here are the highlights of my trip:
November 2011
The production of "Happy Feet 2" is now complete therefore it is the end of my contract at DrD Studios: it has been a fantastic opportunity to work within the mocap department. From some mocap TD work to some crowd motion editing it was the best environment for a first Motion Capture experience. Thanks to that experience I also gain a good understanding of Giant's Motion Capture Technologies.
After 2 years and 1/2 in Australia I'm temporarily back in Europe (France and UK).
August 2011
Since the motion capture of "Happy Feet 2" is now complete, I have been bulk editing i.e motion editing for crowd. This task allows me to get a better understanding of Nuance (Giant's motion editing software) by learning how to use some motion editing tools....
I'm working with some talented motion editors / animators who do not hesitate to share a few tips here and there to help my bulk edit shots look better.
Back into maths! Francois Laroche, mocap supervisor on Happy Feet 1 and 2, has been training me on charmapping. I am beginning to get a good understanding of it.
For those who are wondering what charmapping is about, it consists of the creation of the mathematical expressions (linear algebra) which transform a source motion into a target motion. (<- Well, actually that's my vision of it.... some Artists might have a different approach to it )
May 2011
"Happy Feet 2" teaser trailer is finally out. Enjoy!
I'm still working at DrD Studios. The new year comes with new responsabilities! I'm now python scripting in order to develop the motion capture pipeline. This also allows me to get a good understanding of the different Giant formats.
August 2010
I have started a new job at Dr D Studios on George Miller's movie "Happy Feet 2". I'm a motion processor and bulk editor in the motion capture department. I absolutely LOVE this new job. My main task is to process the source data. But I also get to see and learn about the whole motion capture process and the use of Giant Studios motion capture technology.
May 2010
I'm still working at Animal Logic but my contract is ending on the 6th of August. From that date onwards I'll be pretty flexible and able to live and work anywhere in the world!
I'm actively looking for a job opportunity in Matchmoving or Motion Capture. Please check my latest 3D Matchmoving tests and feel free to contact me for any job opportunities!
February 2010
After 6 months travelling around Australia, I'm helping out the Data Services Department at Animal Logic for the end of production of the lastest Zack Snyder's movies : Legend of the Guardians (3D Animation) and Sucker Punch (VFX).
